ABOUT THE CHEF

Chef Chloe G. Headshot.jpg

Chef Chloe Gould is often described as the “food translator”, for her amazing ability to introduce culturally diverse flavors into the most tried and true American dishes. She began her love for cooking at a very young age-- as she recalls, “being her Grandma’s prep cook”.

She graduated from Johnson and Wales University with an Associate’s in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor’s in Food Service Management. After managing hotels and restaurants for several years, she relocated back to Chicago, directing her efforts and talent towards training young people in the Culinary Arts at her Alma mater, where she received a scholarship from Careers through Culinary Arts Programs.

In 2014, Chef G moved to Singapore, where she taught western cuisine studies. Singapore was life changing, being immersed in the culture and exposed to true Asian Cuisine. She learned a great deal and assisted some of the world’s most inspiring culinarians, including Chef Joan Roca and Chef David Thompson, during Asia’s 50 Best Summit.

While Singapore was both challenging and invigorating, Chef Chloe cemented her culinary style and embraced her role as the “food translator”. Experienced in a variety of cooking venues including teaching, catering, personal chef, restaurants and corporate hospitality. She has also participated in annual galas for several organizations in Chicago such as; For the Love of Chocolate Annual Gala, C-CAP Annual Benefit, Desire 2 Aspire Annual Gala and Hospitality Scholar Foundation Legacy Gala, and auctioned intimate private parties, and dinners.

With a strong Southern background and a great love for all Asian cuisine, Chef Chloe prides herself on the creation of Southern-Asian fusion. Her vast experience in culinary arts and hospitality led her to establish DixiePura LLC. In June of 2022 Chef Chloe G. competed in Food Network’s Supermarket Stakeout Competition (S4 Ep.7 Stew it or get off the lot) & WON!

As she progresses in this industry it's important to surround herself with great mentors and advisors and Juneteenth 2022 she had the pleasure of partnering with award winning Chef Edouardo Jordan of Seattle (Chef & Owner of Junebaby) who she is grateful to be able to call on for advice. In celebration of Black History Month Chicago Public Schools and Aramark honored Chef Chloe G. for her dedication to the community and giving back to the students of Chicago. She also partnered with the Aramark division at Loyola University, where DixiePura Kitchen takes over a station once a week, bringing Southern-Asian inspired dishes to the students. As we await the right opportunity for a location we are collaborating with several Chef’s and organizations in Chicago to give you that DixiePura Kitchen experience, follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop (@dixiepura).
